Ok, I will admit, that title is a little misleading. Unless your pet is a service animal, the y will not be joining you on Its A Small World at the Magic Kingdom, but there are many ways you can include your dog in your trip outside of the parks. From dog-friendly hotels, to dining options, to activities there are so many ways to enjoy your trip with your pup.
If you prefer to stay on property these hotels allow pets:
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Campsites (RV only)
If you plan to bring your pup, Disney requests that you call to book a room and discuss the pet fee. Well-behaved dogs can be left alone in a room for up to seven hours. If you’re park hopping, this is a great way to visit a park in the morning, swing back to the room to check on the dog and give them a bathroom break, and then visit another park in the afternoon or evening. Be sure to read the Disney Dog Policy for hotels for the full list of rules.
If you don’t want to leave your dog in the room or they won’t enjoy it, you can also book them a stay at the on-property boarding and daycare center, Best Friends Pet Care. This is a great option for younger pups or those who need to stretch their legs a little more.
If you plan to stay off property there are several other options available to you. Here are out favorites in Orlando.
In the past there were Disney-owned day use Kennels located near the Transportation and Ticketing Center. As of this publication these centers are now closed.
As a reminder, while dogs are welcome in some areas of dog-friendly hotels, they are not welcome in the parks, Disney Springs, or the boardwalk. Here is our post on Dog-Friendly attractions in Orlando.
