Below is a list of ELEVEN of our favorite hike/walk spots all within a 30 minute drive of Orlando. I’ve noted the surface type as well as if the location has restrooms. As a reminder, Florida does have a leash law so dogs must be leashed on these hikes.
1. Lake Baldwin Trail
- Surface: Paved
- Bathrooms: Yes (in Lake Baldwin Park)

- Distance: 2.5-mile loop
- Notes: Great lake views, connects to dog beach at Lake Baldwin Park (off-leash)
2. Cady Way Trail
- Surface: Paved
- Bathrooms: Yes (at trailheads and parks along route)
- Address: Trailhead at 2500 Cady Way, Winter Park, FL 32792
- Distance: Up to 7 miles one way
- Notes: Urban trail with shaded stretches and water fountains
3. Econ River Wilderness Area
- Surface: Dirt/sand trails
- Bathrooms: No (portable toilet at trailhead sometimes available)

- Distance: ~3 miles total of loops
- Notes: Quiet and scenic; occasional wildlife (bring bug spray)
4. Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve
- Surface: Dirt and boardwalk
- Bathrooms: Yes (at the environmental center)

- Distance: Up to 3.6 miles of trails
- Notes: Leashed dogs welcome, shaded and peaceful
5. Split Oak Forest Wildlife and Environmental Area
- Surface: Dirt/sand trails
- Bathrooms: No

- Distance: Multiple loops from 1 to 6 miles
- Notes: Natural, undeveloped; great for adventurous pups
6. Little Econ Greenway
- Surface: Paved
- Bathrooms: Yes (select trailheads)

- Distance: 7.5 miles one way
- Notes: Runs along the river; has scenic bridges and open green space
7. Seminole Wekiva Trail
- Surface: Paved
- Bathrooms: Yes (at San Sebastian Trailhead)
- Address: 8515 Markham Rd, Sanford, FL 32771
- Distance: 14 miles one way (walk as much as you like)
- Notes: Popular with cyclists and joggers; shade in many parts
8. Mead Botanical Garden Trails
- Surface: Mix of paved and dirt
- Bathrooms: Yes

- Distance: 0.5 to 1 mile of walking paths
- Notes: Great for a leisurely stroll with your dog in a garden setting. Very instagrammable
9. Greenwood Urban Wetlands
- Surface: Paved and gravel paths

- Distance: ~1 mile loop
- Notes: Quiet escape in downtown Orlando; nice urban nature vibe.
10. Spring Hammock Preserve (Soldiers Creek Trailhead)
- Surface: Boardwalk and dirt
- Bathrooms: Yes (at trailhead)

- Distance: Up to 2.5 miles
- Notes: Shady forest trails and wetlands; mosquito repellent recommended

- Surface: Mix of paved and dirt trails
- Bathrooms: Yes

- Distance: ~2 miles of trails
- Notes: Shaded areas and lake views. $5/car entrance fee.
