US National Parks B.A.R.K. Ranger Program

The B.A.R.K. Ranger program is a special program for dogs and their owners at select national parks all over the US. The program is designed to educate owners on how to properly enjoy the parks with their pups while protecting wildlife and the environment and being courteous to other guests.

B.A.R.K. stands for:

  • Bag your pet’s waste
  • Always leash your pet
  • Respect wildlife
  • Know where you can go

The map below, provided by US Bark Rangers #USBarkRangers Facebook group, shares information on which parks participate in the program and if swag or tags are available. The community is welcome to make comments and update the information in the map if you find it is needed.

As with everything, the national park service is experiencing budget cuts so this program is in danger of being phased out in the future. Remember that your decisions at the polls, both nationally and locally, directly affect what is and is not funded and what happens with our parks.
